Dear Zephyr Lane Families,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year!
It is with great excitement, gratitude, and pride that I welcome you to another incredible year at Zephyr Lane Elementary. As your principal, I am truly honored to serve this amazing community and continue the tradition of excellence that makes Zephyr Lane such a special place to learn, grow, and belong.
At Zephyr Lane, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, challenged, and inspired each day they walk through our doors. Our dedicated staff is committed to creating engaging learning experiences while building meaningful relationships that help every student reach their fullest potential - academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our school is more than a campus - it is a family. We know that the greatest success happens when schools and families work together. Your partnership is one of our greatest strengths, and we invite you to be an active part of your child's educational journey. Whether you're volunteering in a classroom, joining our Booster Club, attending family events, serving on School Site Council or ELAC, or simply cheering on your child from home, your involvement makes a lasting difference.
This year, our Hurricanes are embracing a new rallying cry:
HURRICANES BRING THE STORM!
For us, STORM represents the values that guide everything we do:
S – Show Respect
T – Take Responsibility
O – Own Your Learning
R – Rise to Challenges
M – Make a Difference
These aren't just words on a poster - they are the expectations we strive to live every day. We believe every Hurricane has the ability to lead with kindness, persevere through challenges, celebrate growth, and positively impact those around them.
You'll hear us proudly say:
"We don't wait for the storm... WE ARE THE STORM!"
That means we don't wait for opportunities - we create them. We don't wait for someone else to lead - we step forward. We don't wait for change - we become the difference our school and community deserve.
Throughout the year, we look forward to creating lasting memories together through Back-to-School Night, Family Nights, Movie Night, our School Carnival, Open House, Awards Assemblies, community events, and many other opportunities that bring our Hurricane family together. These traditions help make Zephyr Lane a place where learning is joyful, relationships are strong, and every child feels connected.
Our commitment is simple: to ensure that every student is known, every family feels welcomed, every staff member feels supported, and every Hurricane has the opportunity to succeed.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. We cannot wait to partner with you as we make the 2026–2027 school year our best one yet.
Welcome to Zephyr Lane...
Where Hurricanes Bring the STORM!
I look forward to meeting each of you and celebrating all that we will accomplish together.
With Hurricane Pride,
Christian Johnson
